For seven months, a PETA investigator went undercover at U.S. Global Exotics, Inc., (USGE) a massive international animal wholesale facility in Arlington, Texas. At the time, USGE was one of the nation's largest dealers of animals sold in pet stores all around the world.
PETA's investigation revealed that thousands of animals suffered horrible fates because they were denied the most basic necessities: food, water, space, air, humidity, veterinary care, and even a painless end to their misery. Continuous, cruel confinement to severely crowded and filthy enclosures compounded their suffering and resulted in the slow, painful deaths of countless animals.
Thanks to PETA's investigation, USGE's animal victims have been rescued, but other pet shops and dealers such as PETCO and PetSmart continue to exploit animals for money.
